Another Great BUSY Sports Day
For those of you who made the trip to Stirling University for the BUSY 2008 Sports Day, I hope you aren't suffering too much with sunburn etc. It was a glorious day with hardly a cloud in the sky and the cafe virtually ran out of ice-cream by the end of it.
We had 26 churches registered with 700+ attending on the day, which is up on last year.
The overall winners were Kirkintilloch Baptist, with Stirling Baptist coming in as runners-up and Bearsden Baptist winning the 4x400m relay race.
As part of the awards ceremony, we had Al Johnson, Scotland's No. 1 football freestyler along to demonstrate his skills and share a bit of his faith journey. He was terrific and even though some had been sitting for about an hour waiting for the ceremony to start (partly because the football finals were so competitive), they still entered right into it.
On the day we only have time to announce winners in most events, with the occasional runner-up. however, many people put in fantasitic efforts and so we have managed to collate results and will over the course of the week ahead, at least put up the first, second and third placed competitors in all the events.
So for starters, here's the list of winners in each event (what we read out in the awards ceremony) and the Sports Day Top 10 churches.
