E100 Challenge

The E100 Challenge is part of of the Biblefresh initiative, encouraging people to engage with the Bible and to apply it to their lives. The E100 Challenge itself is a series of 100 passages – 50 from the Old Testament and 50 from the New Testament – which gives a overview of the whole Bible.

Throughout the year, as a way of encouraging people to read and understand the Bible, we are publishing the E100 Challenge passages – about two every week. They should appear below as and when they are published.

There is not one set way of reading and studying the Bible, but if you’re not sure what to do, here are a few tips to start you off:

  • Pray – God wants to speak to us as we read the Bible, so ask God to speak through the passage you’re reading and pray that you wouldn’t be distracted;
  • Read – the passage slowly. Make a note or highlight anything that sticks out to you, or any questions you have;
  • Reflect – Think about what the passage teaches you about God and what he might be trying to teach you through what you read;
  • Respond – Write down anything you need to do (or perhaps something you need to say to someone) because of what you’ve read;
  • Pray – ask God to continue to teach you about what you’ve read and ask him to help you live it out.

This isn’t prescriptive – it’s just a guide to get you started in getting the most out of reading the Bible.
